Why 'La Honda?'
The name 'La Honda Winery' arises from the bucolic, pastoral, and some might say infamous mountain town of La Honda where the winery grows its estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. The vineyards are located just east of the Red Barn on the north side of twisting, snaking Highway 84, west of Skyline Road in Woodside.
Why 'Redwood City?'
Behind the golden stucco walls of La Honda Winery, located in an industrial building in the Fair Oaks District of Redwood City, lies a warm and inviting winery where old world craftsmanship is combined with modern winemaking which yields wines of subtleness and grace. Our urban location provides a convenient and accessible location to produce the wine, receive guests, and entertain.
La Honda wines are grown and produced with food and good living in mind. Our total winery production is modest, and most wines are vineyard designated small-lot varietals and blends ranging from fifty to one-hundred and twenty cases per 'cuvee'. Our wines are elegant, distinctive, subtle, and improve with age. From old-world Cabernet to new world Syrah, from tropical Sauvignon Blanc to port and dessert wine, La Honda wines are made to be exciting and enjoyable.
La Honda wine also available at the following locations on the coastside:
